Patients suffer due to lack of facilities in District Hospital Samba

SAMBA, Sept 18: District Hospital Samba which is catering to a huge area has only one doctor of specialty against the requirement of 2-3 doctors in every faculty.
Sources said that there were 15 allotted posts of Assistant surgeons but only 4 were present working there, while there was only one gynecologist while at Emergency ward was also facing shortage of doctors. "Huge rash of patients can be seen in physician's ward but there is also only one physician, while ENT section has also one and Orto has two doctors only. There is only one staff nurse and three sweepers where ten are required", sources said.
The foundation stone of the building of District Hospital Samba was laid by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on 3rd of March 2010, but so far hospital has failed to provide facilities.
