Jammu, Sept 18: A Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) personnel received bullet injuries in a shootout that took place at Bishnah on Tuesday while he was on his usual evening walk with his friend and three motorcycle borne unidentified youth opened firing on them.As per police sources, the CBI personnel identified namely Pankaj Sharma s/o Thoru Ram of Deoli was on his routine evening walk with his friend namely Sahil when three motorcycle borne unidentified youth opened firing on them. Leaving him in a pool of blood, the accused escaped from the spot, police sources said adding, "CBI personnel presently is posted at New Delhi and was on leave these days.'Evacuating the injured to nearby hospital for first aid, the concerned police started investigating the matter. It was during the course of investigation when police came to know that the unidentified youth opened firing on Sahil, who is main witness in Anshu murder case, however, they missed the target and the bullet pierced the leg of CBI personnel. "Sahil has been summoned by the court to record his statement on this September 19," police sources said.Meanwhile CBI personnel was shifted to Amandeep Hospital Amritsar for treatment, Bishnah police having registered a case in this connection further had started massive manhunt to arrest the accused after their identification. Pertinently, Anshu was murdered by his six friends in the year 2010 and accordingly police made the arrest effective. Since then case is under trial in Munsif Court and Sahil who was a witness in the case too has been summoned for recording his statement in the court.
