EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 18: The devotees of Gujarati Basti alongwith residents of adjoining areas of Raghunath Mandir, Lower Gummat and Jewel area celebrated "Ganesh Visarjan" after ten days of Ganesh Chaturthi. The idol of Lord Ganesha, installed at Hanuman Mandir Gummat, was immersed at Hark Ki Poudi along river Tawi amid colourful celebrations. State Secretary BJP, Yudhvir Sethi and Vice President Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), Pranav Shagotra were part of the religious procession which started from Gummat and after passing through Raghunath Bazaar Chowk, Residency Road, Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Prem Nagar,Gujjar Nagar, Bawa area and culminated on the banks of river Tawi at Har ki Poudi. A large number of devotes including men, women and children joined the procession with religious enthusiasm and zeal. They threw colours and celebrated the event by dancing on the traditional Garba and singing folk songs. The devotees performed prayers and rituals before immersing the idol of Lord Ganesha into the waters of river Tawi.
