Doda, Sept 18: With a view to review the implementation of Sakshar Bharat Mission, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Doda Mubarak Singh here at Doda.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Doda G.N Balwan, chief planning officer Doda, Chief Education officer Doda, besides other also attended the meeting.
While speaking in the occasion DDC exhorted upon the officers of Education Department to work with a missionary spirit and in a coordinated way so that the aim of the mission is achieved in the District.
Underlining the need for implementation of Sakshar Bharat Mission, DDC said that it is the Centrally Sponsored scheme of the Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD Govt. of India, which aims to further promote and strengthen adult education, specially of women , by extending educational options to those adults who having lost the opportunity of access to formal education and crossed the standard age for receiving such education, vocational education, physical education and emotional development, practical arts, applied science, sports and recreation etc.
During the course of meeting a threadbare discussions were held on various issues relating to re-constitution of Zila Lok Samiti Doda, re-constitution of Block Lok Shiksha Samities, opening of subsidiary accounts of ZLSS and BLSS in respect of District Doda, engagement of 4 District Coordinators and 8 Block Coordinators, Engagement of Preraks , besides various other issues related to implementation of the scheme in the District were also discussed in the meeting.
It was revealed in the meeting that 4 district coordinators and 8 block coordinators and 462 Preraks ( two in each gram panchayat, one male, one female) will be engaged under the scheme in the District. |
