| Protest launched against non availability of ration | | |

Poonch, Sept 20: A massive protest was lodged by Poonch unit of BJP against Assistant Director CA & PD against non availability of ration for over three months. Earlier the BJP workers assembled in Parade Park Poonch and started slogans against government. They blasted the CA&PD Minister over ignoring Poonch district. They alleged that people all over the district are suffering from non availability of ration and the government has turned a deaf ear towards mitigating the problems of people. Addressing the gathering, President Poonch unit of BJP, Sunil Gupta, said, "Despite repeated protest, the officials of CA&PD Department has given a cold shoulder to the problems faced by poor people. No ration is available for over three months and whatever is available and that too is of sub standard. The government has completely ignored Poonch District and we are going to launch a mass agitation if government fails to release the amount of ration within days"
Later the BJP members went to AD office and gheraoed the office. ADC Poonch reached the spot and assured the protestors that the mater will be solved within days. On assurance of ADC Poonch, the BJP unit called off the protest. |
