Police arrest doctor couple in abortion charges | Rotary Home Sexual abuse case | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 20: In a latest development in the sexual abuse of mentally challenged girls at Rotary Inner Wheel Home for Mentally challenged at Channi Rama which rocked the city on September 8/9, the Police today arrested two doctors for their alleged involvement in abortion of sexually abused girls of said home. Sources said that the arrested accused have been identified Dr Raj and her husband Dr P R Sharma, both were running a nursing home in Ambphala Jammu. "Both were booked late this evening under relevant section for their alleged involvement in abortion of sexually abused inmates of Rotary Inner Wheel Home for Mentally challenged at Channi Rama", the sources said. It pertinent to mention here that soon after the incident, police swung into action and started investigation in the reports after DC, Jammu, AK Sahu constituted a Board to investigate the matter and also sought police action. The Board was represented by DC, ADC, SP, and doctors, including gynaecologists and psychiatrist. According to officials sources the report (of the Board) came out with revelations that five mentally challenged girls were sexually exploited. Following the inputs from arrested accused person of case, the Trikuta Nagar police today booked above said persons. "Out of 17 girls, five were found to be allegedly raped regularly following which two persons, including director of the Home were arrested," sources added. They said that the police was deployed in strength around the Home while the probe report has been submitted before the administration for action. While Trikuta Nagar police have registered a rape case under 376 of RPC, further investigation is on and today police held two more persons in the said case. |
