Jammu, Sept 20: The people of Samba registered strong protest against `negligence and continued absence of CMO' at the district hospital here today. After chanting slogans against the CMO, the protesters checked the order/recovery book and found no movement or order of the CMO. However, the staffers said the CMO was in a meeting .They showed a fake order page of movement of CMO having dispatch no. CMO/S/Est/2013-14/1995-97 of dated 19-09-2013 in which it was mentioned that CMO Samba has a meeting with Director Health Jammu on 20-09-2013, but on the other hand the dispatch register has no such date & no. mentioned in it.
The last entry in the register was CMO/S/Est/2013-14/1992-95 of dated 20-09-2013. People shouted slogans against the CMO like, "CMO Samba Chor Hai", "Gundagardi Nhi Chalegi". They also said that whenever our prominent citizens meet with CMO Samba to take up issues of importance he misbehaves with they saying he was a close relative of he Deputy Chief Minister.
The protestors marched around the hospital and found found a number of problems ranging from sanitation to unauthorized absence of doctors. A scribe who tried to take a photo of doctors roaming without aprons in the OPD was abused. Interestingly both the erring doctors were fined by MOS Health Shabir Ahmed Khan for doing duty without aprons during his last visit.
Naresh Amba (Ex Vice President & Councilor Municipal Committee Samba) told that there are no more doctors or staff in the District Hospital Samba & there is lack of facilities. He added that CMO generally remains absent in the Hospital during office hours.
Sanjeev Padha (Block President BJP) also alleged that there is worst sanitation condition in the hospital premises that causes many serious diseases to the patient like Dengu. He said that the staff members of hospital also misbehave with the patients.
Ramesh Gupta (Distt. President Shiv Sena) also expressed concern over the condition of the hospital. Pardeep Narotra (President janta Dal United), Rajan Gupta (Shiv Sena Hindustan) & all party members of Samba were present on the occasion. The protestors warned the higher authorities & administration of staging protests in case action was not taken against the CMO and others.
