| NMC hails centre for releasing 10% DA | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 20: While hailing the decision of Union Cabinet in releasing 10 percent DA due from July last to its employees and pensioners, President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri described the initiative as employee friendly decision. He said that the decision taken by the Union Cabinet would give sigh of relief to the employees and pensioners considering the present inflation and price hike. Shastri appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately issue orders for release of due DA instalment in favour of the employees of State Government and pensioners in cash well before ensuing festival season The NMC Chief reiterated that provision for such expenditure already exists in current year budget estimates and the government should take early decision in this regard. "Delay in such matter is also not in interest of the State exchequer," he added. Shastri expressed grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay/pension which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th pay commission implemented since January 1986. "The Government is duty bound to merger the DA into basic pay/pension and constitute 7th pay commission an agreed principals," he said Shastri demanded for early amendment in SRO64, beside enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs ten thousand per month. ` |
