Ealy Times Report JAMMU, Sept 20: After strongly taking the issues of women empowerment in different states across the country including J&K, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has now stressed on holistic development of children belonging to all ages, castes, religion, language groups, communities, socio-economic status and geographical locations. Sources said the ministry is mulling to launch such inclusive programmes, policies, schemes and legislations for children which will be securing their best interests and help them in promoting social and economic empowerment and ensuring survival, development, care and for protection of their rights. Sources added that the ministry encapsulates its aspiration for the development of childrens for that they aspire to promote their nurture, care and protection provide to them with a safe and secure environment within which they can creatively develop their potential and enjoy their childhood and adolescence. Pertinent to mention here that for Ensuring the right of children to life and survival (particularly focusing on the girl child), physical, psychological and cognitive development, emotional and social well being and access to nutrition, education, health care, clean environment, shelter and justice are core concerns of the Ministry and they are acknowledging family as an important institution which will help in providing stability and security to the girl child in the state. Sources claimed the inclusive development and protection of children's which acknowledges their heterogeneity , the (MWCD) sought to address the specific needs and concerns of different categories of children, particularly those most vulnerable, including children living on the street, child labourers, trafficked children, differently abled children, children caught in conflict zones and disaster hit areas, children of women engaged in prostitution and children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minority groups. |
