| Third day on, strike continues in Samba hospital | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Oct 2: The doctors and other staff members of District Hospital Samba continued their strike for the third consecutive day today. The doctors stayed away from the OPD during duty hours and registered protest in front of the hospital. However, the emergency services operated normally as doctors and other staffers remained present. The strike has subjected the patients to inconvenience. The private clinics are minting money taking undue advantage of the strike. The indoor patients while criticizing the government saying the issue was created out of a mole hill. They held the administration and the people responsible for the impasse. Addressing the staffers, the Superintendent said the strike shall continue until the accused are arrested and security given to the hospital. The doctors and staffers went on strike three days ago when a mob entered the hospital to express their anger over ``non-performance' of the doctors and paramedical staff. Some staffers were also manhandled by the irate mob. |
