| Centrally sponsored 1109 CSCs lying idle across JK | | VLE's protest on Minister's arrival | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Oct 2 : Like hundreds of other schemes in the state, ill implementation of centrally sponsored scheme to establish 1109 common service centres in according to the village level entrepreneurs has revealed the outdated working mechanism of state government. Village level entrepreneurs (VLE's) of Kashmir who protested in Srinagar today in presence of the Minister of state for information technology, Feroz Ahmad Khan said that state government has been playing with the lives of thousands of educated youth since 2009 as the claim of state office bearers to provide an opportunity for the educated youth to establish self help centres and earn their livelihood independently by enjoying some revenue generating services in common service centres is still a claim only. Protesting youth at SKICC who were carrying placards and banners said that the promises written in the circular like collecting electricity bills from the consumers, death birth registration, revenue related services, passport services, eletion card and ration card services etc. is yet to be implemented and most the common service centres established four years before are lying useless as and people associated with them are suffering badly. "Till date no revenue generating service has been made available by the Government of J&K on these centres despite making hundreds of representations and deliberations, Government has so far failed to make these centres viable"said one protestor Syed Junaid Andrabi The protestors said that state government is forcing Khidmat Centre operators to suffer along with their families as after hundreds of review meetings were taken up with the office bearers of Information Technology Department over the years and despite orders from the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah as well implementation of orders still seems a distant dream keeping in the outdated work mechanism of the state government. According to the president of the association of common service centres, Shabir Ahamd Shah VLE's are running into business loss from last four years and state government has finally forced them to come on roads and protest as they cannot bear any more sufferings in their families due to official apathy. Thousands of VLE's associated with common service centres have decided to launch state wide protests against the state government till the genuine demands are not fulfilled and justice is done with this auspicious Centrally Sponsored project." added the president VLE's. The members of the association later met the concerned minister, Feroz Ahmad Khan at SKICC who had arrived there to attend an event and put a deadline of two weeks before him to fulfill their demands or be ready to face the ugly mode of protest across the state incase the government failed to implement the scheme as per the guidelines mentioned in this regard. |
