Jammu, Oct 2: National Sikh Front (NSK) today demanded from state government for a separate District Gurudwara Prabandak Committee (DGPC) for Samba. According to press release, NSK Chairman Varinderjeet Singh said that during the tenure of Former Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad eight new districts in Jammu and Kashmir were engraved out. "Right from that time we started demanding a separate DGPC for Samba and such other district where there is sizeable Sikh population. But despite our persistent demand and High Court directions, government still started making preparation for conduct of election on the basis of erstwhile districts", Varinderjeet said. "This all is being managed by a group of personal benefits, both for political gains and even to have been done in the past. Not only one but many examples can be quoted in this regard and will be done if situation so demands to bring all these to public domain" said Singh. |
