| World leprosy day celebrated with great zeal | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 2: World Leprosy Day was celebrated on 2nd of October at District Headquarter Kathua with great fervor and zeal on the eve of 144th birth anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. The function was organised under the chairmanship of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ajay Khajuria. After paying tribute to Mahatama Gandhi he appealed all the health personnel of the department to join hands to fight against leprosy. The officer's among others who participated in the function was D.T.O Dr. Kavi Raj, A.D P&S R.S Jasrotia, C.H.O Kartar Verma. Dr. Kavi Raj explained about cardinal signs of Leprosy and its diagnosis. He told that the anti-leprosy drugs are free of cost and are available at all health institutions. C.H.O Kartar Verma explained about the leprosy as social problem and about the methods of its removal from the society. At the end of the function vote of thanks were given by chairman of the function Dr. Ajay Khajuria. |
