| Woman dies in Delhi, family lodges complaint | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 2: Mystery shrouded over the death of a woman who breathed her last in a hospital of Delhi while undergoing treatment of her alleged illness as family members alleging 'torture by her husband' lodged complaint at Police Station Satwari. The deceased has been identified as Mohinder Kour (54) wife of Popinder Singh a resident of Satwari, police sources said. They further said that the family members of the deceased woman have registered a complaint at Police Station Satwari alleging that their daughter was tortured by her husband which consequently led to her chronic illness resulting to her death in a hospital of Delhi where she was undergoing treatment. Acting on the complaint, police swung into action and they went to the residence of the in-laws of the woman and seized the body before it could be cremated. The police shifted body to the GMC & Hospital's morgue for post mortem apprehending foul play following complaint by the parents and brother of the deceased. Police sources said a board of four doctors including Dr Kailash, Dr Surinder Attri, Dr JP Singh and Dr Sangita Bhagat conducted post mortem of the deceased following which the body was handed over to the family members. "A case under 174 of CrPC has been registered in this connection, police said. |
