KHRA demands extension in filing of income tax returns

JAMMU, Oct 2: Demanding extension of due date of filing of Income tax returns for assesses whose accounts are required to be audited by a period of one month till October 31, the Katra Hotel & Restaurant Association (KHRA).
In a memorandum submitted to Chairperson Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the President of Katra Hotel & Restaurant Association, Sham Lal Kesar highlighted the recent incidents of curfew and bandhs in Jammu, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Rajouri districts of Jammu region and Pulwama District in Kashmir region which lead to non finalization of accounts by Auditable assesses and subsequent filing of their income tax returns by due date of September 30. Sham Lal Kesar exhorted the Chairperson CBDT to take a lenient view on the matter as far as the assesses of J&K are concerned.
