Kathua, Oct 2: Showing their anger against expulsion of five labourers, Jammu-Kashmir Industrial Workers Association Kathua staged a protest against Jackson Ltd at Shaheed Bhagat Singh park Kathua. The protestors were raising slogans against alleged undemocratic and oppressive policies of the Jackson Industry management and demanded the re-appointment of expelled workers. Raj Kumar said that Jackson Industry management has violated the Jammu and Kashmir service act of private sector, according to which semi skilled workers could not be transferred beyond the limit of 30 kilometers. Raising a question mark on the trasfer policy, Raj Kumar said, "How Jackson management can transfer his workers to Noida, which is more than 500 km away?". Alleging that Jackson Industry has violated Industrial Dispute Act, according to which when a conciliation proceeding was going on, than amid of proceeding the industry has no legal right to transfer or expel its workers. "If industry does any violation then it is bound to face the legal prosecution which is being held by the Labour department", he said. The protestors also leveled serious allegations against management for victimizing the industrial workers in the name of transfer policy. Later the deputation of labourers met DC Kathua, where they urged to deliver the justice and a genuine action against the illegal practices of the Jackson industry. |
