| Dr Mahajan takes over as HoD Medicine, GMC Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 2: Renowned Rheumatologist and Academician of National repute, Prof. Dr Annil Mahajan, took over the charge of Head of Department Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu after superannuation of Prof Dr JP Singh today in simple but impressive function. Dr Annil Mahajan is graduate and postgraduate of GMC, Jammu and Fellow- Rheumatology from, SGPGI, Lucknow. He is a Fellow of International Academy Medical Science (FIMSA), Indian college of Physician (FICP), Indian Academy Clinical Medicine (FIACM) and Member National Academy Medical Sciences (MAMS).
He is known for promoting medical journalism-JK Science, Journal of Medical Education and Research.
He has been National Advisory and Editorial board member of many prestigious National Journals like Journal Association of Physician of India (JAPI), Journal Midlife Health (JMH), Journal Indian Academy Clinical Medicine (JIACM), Indian Journal Rheumatology (IJR) and Journal Indian Medicine Association (JIMA).
He has more than 80 publications in indexed journals. Prestigious Oration of Indian Academy Clinical Medicine was awarded to him.
He has authored more than 9 book chapters and edited prestigious Manual of Rheumatology and Manual (osteoporosis) of Indian Menopause Society. He has been National faculty in many prestigious National and International conferences of APICON, IRACON, IMSCON, IACMCOM, ISRPTCON, HIV Medicine.
He had the rare honour as National experts to compile national treatment guidelines on postmenopausal osteoporosis and menopause. He remained as national executive member of Indian Rheumatology Association for consecutive six years.
He was also founder president of Indian Rheumatology Association J&K Chapter and remained as joint secretary Indian Menopause Society Jammu Chapter. It is worthwhile to mention here that Dr Anil Mahajan has won the elections of Medical Council of India (MCI) from his contemporaries Dr R P Kudyar (Principal and Director ASCOMS) and Dr Dinesh Kumar (HOD PSM) GMC Jammu, the election of which held recently. On assuming charge of HOD Medicine, Dr. Mahajan said that he is committed for patient care and academics in this Institute and shall try his level best to maintain the laid down standards of his seniors. |
