Addressing a function at Poonch here today, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today said that situation in the whole State including on the border has been deteriorating because the present regime has failed to carry forward the agenda of peace and development which was initiated by the previous PDP-Congress government. Sharma reminded that PDP had pioneered the agenda of peace and development in the State to establish sustainable peace in this region. He added that the agenda pioneered and adopted by the PDP had given encouraging result during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but the present government headed by Omar Abdullah has miserably failed to carry forward this agenda. Sharma mentioned that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that various steps were taken to accelerate developmental activities in Poonch. He said that it was all due to the efforts of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that work on Mughal road was started. He, however, regretted that present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah has failed to follow the path of development and peace which was carved out Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. "Instead of addressing problems of the people this regime has been trying to hoodwink the people by false promises", he said. |
