| Tehsildar assures to take up matter with DC | | Girls school running in unsafe building | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Oct 5 : On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Tehsildar Kishtwar Iqbal Singh along with SHO police station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani today conducted the surprise checking of government schools and other government offices. During surprise checking, several employees were found absent from their duties. While making a visit of Govt. City Middle School Girls Kishtwar, the headmistress Shameema Qazi appraised the Tehsildar Kishtwar about the worst condition of the school building having suffered extensive damage due to May 1st and May 14th earthquakes followed by two more massive earthquakes in first week of August. The teachers informed the visiting officer that the school building was declared as unsafe. Headmistress informed the officer that due to non availability of alternative accommodation, the school management is compelled to continue the school inside this unsafe building. She urged upon Tehsildar Kishtwar to make alternative arrangements for nearly 150 girls students studying in the school. She also brought forth the problem of non availability of toilet facility in the school building. Tehsildar Kishtwar assured the headmistress and staff of the school that he will take up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and will look for all possible means of help for normal functioning of school. |
