Why, then, is Omar Abdullah clinging to CM office?
Kamaal, Geelani on the same page

Jammu, Oct 5: Omar Abdullah's uncle and NC additional general secretary Mustafa Kamaal, who despises India and everything Indian everyday and uses all the available opportunities to castigate the otherwise pliable and fundamentalist-friendly Congress, and Tehrik-e-Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a fanatic and votary of Kashmir's merger with theocratic, fundamentalist and feudalistic Pakistan, which is also epicenter of global terrorism, are on the same page. Both share the view that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is not a free man and the Army uses the AFSPA to avoid any legal action against them and violate human rights of Kashmiri people with impunity. "Omar is not a free man but bound by the law. However, there has always been carrot and stick policy of Delhi," he told a local news gathering agency on Thursday, adding that he "agrees with Geelani's statement that Omar Abdullah is not a free man".
Kamaal is aware of the fact that Omar Abdullah is not leading a one party Government. It is a coalition Government. He also knows that the NC cannot rule even for a day if the Congress withdraws its support to the Omar Abdullah-led Government, as the NC doesn't have even 33 per cent presence in the 87-member House. The NC has only 28 MLAs. But more than that, Kamaal knows that Omar Abdullah has hardly cared for the Congress party, except the Congress Ministers who remain on the right side of the Chief Minister for reasons not difficult to understand. In other words, Omar Abdullah has been behaving like a dictator and making policy pronouncements without taking the local Congress leadership on board.
If, still, Mustafa Kamaal speaks the Geelani language and says that Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister is not a free man, then the question to be asked is: Why has he been clinging to the office which doesn't allow him to function in the manner he should? Kamaal should to ask his helpless and powerless nephew to put in his papers so that he could act freely. This is the minimum self-respect demands.
