| JKSEGVM castigates vested interests for turning Gurudwaras into political institutions | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5 : Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Employees Gurmat Vichar Manch (JKSEGVM) has castigated some vested interest people, who have allegedly turned Gurudwaras into political insituttions. According to press release, JKSEGVM members said that right to religion was a universally recognized fundamental right by the constitutions, whereas some vested interests within the Sikh community wanted to keep them out of management of their religious places. " When even the political parties are not allowing the criminals into legislature, some vested interest, instead of demanding the exclusion of criminal elements from the Gurdwara management, have approached the Court for exclusion of Sikh employees from the management of Gurdwaras, whereas the state Gurudwara Act clearly allows an employee to be a part of Gurdwara management" they said. They asked that if politicians and criminal could participate in election for Gurdwara management, why not the government employees?. They added that as these vested interests people should keep their politics and delay tactics out from Gurudwara management so that elections might took place within six months as already directed by High Court of Jammu and Kashmir. |
