The Congress which was scheduled to be held from October 24 to 26 will now be held from November 5 to 7. Hence the last date for submission of the abstracts is being extended to October 12. Being sponsored by the J&K State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, J&K and DST, Govt. of India, this program is thought to be a grand venture and will also showcase the contributions of women for Science and Technology. This, it is hoped, it will help in breaking the myth that still persists that women are less suited to pursue science and encourage more women to pursue the field, said Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College and Patron of the Congress. Dr. Pragya Khanna, the Organizing Secretary of the Congress enumerated the objectives of the congress that included advancing and promoting the cause of science in India; the publication of Souvenir, Proceedings and more importantly the Directory of Women Scientists of J&K. |
