Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 21: Madan Lal Sharma, Member Parliament, Jammu Poonch Constituency said that Congress Party believes in gross root governance and central leadership has also given a clear cut message for the empowerment of Panchayats by implementing 73rd and 74 Amendments .
Sharma while addressing a huge gathering at Purkhoo in Raipur-Domana Constituency asked the coalition Government to understand the gravity of the issue and implement 73rd and 74th Amendment for empowering Panchayats. He said that since we already have the acts which can empower Panchayats there is no need for any special act. The State Assembly should adopt 73rd Amendment in the best interest of the coalition and Panchayat. On the occasion BJP Sarpanch Jugal Mahajan and Youth leader BJP Harshvardan Singh joined Congress and expressed their faith in the leadership of MP Madan Lal Sharma and Congress Party. Sharma appealed the Jammu people to unite for the common cause of Jammu and Congress Party is the only Party which has the potential to form the Government on its own and watch the interest of Jammu Division at large. He said that time has come when Jammu people should present a united face to counter the nefarious designs of anti-Jammu forces. Sharma said that during the two times tenure as MP, he has tried to address the aspirations of people from all Communities, districts and faiths without any discrimination and will continue to work for the development of his constituency in every possible manner. Condemning cease fire violations by Pakistan, Sharma expressed concern over the migration of people from International Border in Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and asked the administration to provide immediate food, ration, Health care and basic amenities to them and support those who are affected by firing as per their need.
