KISHTWAR, Oct 21: Giving a fresh twist to the Kishtwar violence probe, the former MOS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo has reportedly sought the details of the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) set for the security of the VVIP's or the Minister both Cabinet as well as MOS from the concerned agencies.
As per the reports during the preliminary investigation, Justice Gandhi found that the security of the MOS Home Kichloo has been compromised as a result of which the Minister as well as the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar was trapped inside the Dak Banglow after the rioters attacked the building and tried to burn the minister and his accompanies alive.
Kichloo was present inside the Dak Banglow when the rioters hurled a burning LPG cylinder on Room No:8 of Dak Banglow where Kichloo was trapped after the rioters attack the Dak Banglow, luckily the LPG cylinder did not explode thus a major tragedy was averted. Later, Kichloo along with Deputy Commissioner and others scaled the 12 feet high back wall of the Dak Banglow with the help of his accompanies.
A few masked men also managed to enter the meeting room where Kichloo was trapped. The details added that not a single senior police officer was accompanied Kichloo before and after he (Kichloo) was trapped inside Dak Banglow. During the preliminary inquiry, the officials informed the commission that DIG DKR was in Jammu in connection with celebration of Eid festival with his family, while SP Kishtwar, Additional SP, DySP HQ and SHO Kishtwar was in the town and was busy in handling the situation. The sources within the government though confirm the reports, but prefer to remain quit over the issue. The government sources added that the government is waiting for the final report from Justice Gandhi and added that all the guilty officials will be punished in accordance to law. The sources said that as per the protocol, concerned DIG of the area should remain present in the town where the MOS was present or about to tour. The sources within the police said that as per the guide line if concerned DIG is out of station or on leave, the department or the government makes alternative arrangements till the concerned DIG or SP reports back to his place of posting.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo resigned from the post of MOS Home after opposition parties like BJP and BSP questioned his role in the riots and stall the preceding in both Houses of the Parliament which later resulted into the announcement of judicial probe by the Omar Abdullah government and subsequently appointed Justice retired RC Gandhi as the head of Commission of Inquiry. Justice Gandhi is schedule to submit his report on Kishtwar riots on or before 28th of this month.
