| Sharma expresses concern over LoC, IB tension | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 21: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today asked the state and central governments to take effective steps to protect lives and properties of civilians living all along LoC and International Boarder (IB) which have been targeted by Pakistan shelling. Addressing a pubic meeting in Bari Brahmana on Monday, PDP candidate reminded the people that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed there was complete peace on borders from Kathua to Kargil. He regretted that present regime in the state has failed to carry forward the agenda of peace and development in the State. He said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, as Chief Minister of the State, had convinced both India and Pakistan to take peace initiatives which ultimately led to the total peace on borders. Lambasting Omar Abdullah led coalition regime for its failure to solve problems of the common masses which include unemployment, erratic supply of drinking water and power, heightened corruption etc, lack of transparency and accountability of government agencies in discharging duties, he said that legalizing corruption and nepotism was the only noticeable achievement of the three year tenure of regime headed by National Conference. He also targeted BJP and Congress parties and dubbed them as opportunities which can have alliance with any party for power lust. He regretted that instead of addressing woes of the common people this regime was more particular about befooling the people by one or other way. Others who spoke on the occasion include Hussain Ali Waffa state secretary, Saleem Choudhary, Digvijay Singh, Noor Hussain all senior leaders of the party and Pawan Dev Singh Distt President also spoke on the occasion. |
