JAMMU, Oct 21: Quarterfinals position has been cleared with top eight teams finding berth in the knock-out stages of the ongoing 37th Border Security Force (BSF) Inter-Frontier Hockey Tournament, organised by BSF Jammu Frontier at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. Now, in the quarterfinals, to be played tomorrow, hosts Jammu Frontier shall be playing against Gujarat at 2 pm. Among other qualifiers are defending champion, North Bengal, last year's silver medalist, Punjab Frontier and Manipur and Chajjar (M&C). Earlier, in the league round, played today, title holders, North Bengal defeated Gujarat Frontier by two goals to one. To reach the knock-out stages, Punjab outplayed Rajasthan Frontier 3-1. In other league matches of the day, Gujarat Frontier blanked Magalaya Frontier 8-0 while Rajasthan trounced Tripura by four goals to one. Manipur and Chajjar (M&C) trounced South Bengal 4-1. |
