KATHUA, Oct 26: A deputation of Tractors owners from Billawar today called on District
Officer Geology and Mining Department, Kathua to lodge a complaint against the alleged harassment by a contractor of several khuds and nallahs who overcharge the rates of sand and stones.
The tractors owners led by Mohamad Hanif, Sajjad Bhat, Chaman Lal, Darshan Kumar and Mohammad Aijaz apprised the officer that the contractor Surinder who has taken the royalty contract to lift all the construction material like sands and stones from the Khuds and Nallhas of Billawar area is unnecessarily harassing the tractor owners by charging the rates over and above the actual and fixed rates and threaten them if they refuse to give the inflated rates.
The District officer Geology and Mining assured the deputation to take a fair and strict action against the contractor for allegedly overcharging from the tractor owners. |
