Jammu, Oct 26: The internal bickering between Jammu and Kashmir Pardesh Youth Congress (PYC) today took a new turn, with issuance of show-cause notice by Indian Youth Congress Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Chetan Chauhan, to all six rebel PYC leaders, for overtly launching a campaign against their president Shahnawaz Chaudhary. In six separate show cause notices issued to PYC vice-president Pranav Shagotra, General Secretaries R S Pathania, Manjeet Singh Jatt, Abid Kashmiri, D Rashid Chowdhary and Secretary Rajveer Singh Manhas, the in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir, Chetan Chouhan has explicitly said that instead of raising objections with him, said office bearers went to media, causing irreparable damage to Youth Congress. In the show cause notices, Chetan Chouhan has further maintained that the activities of PYC leaders have caused damage to organization beyond measures and was a clear case for disciplinary action. Chetan Chauhan has sought explanation of all six office bearers on the issue within five days of receipt of notice. Pertinently, on October, 24, 2013, the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) office bearers had launched a campaign against their president Shahnawaz Chaudhary seeking his ouster on the pretext that he was "promoting his favorites" in the party. In a meeting, the PYC office bearers including PYC vice-president Pranav Shagotra, General Secretaries R S Pathania, Manjeet Singh Jatt, Abid Kashmiri, D Rashid Chowdhary and Secretary Rajveer Singh Manhas had passed a unanimous resolution against Shahnawaz. "Ever since Shahnawaz was made the PYC president, his style of work has been lopsided, arbitrary and confined to promoting his favorites," the resolution passed by rebellious leaders had maintained, adding "He doesn't discuss important matters with the PYC members. No policy or program was ever discussed with us,". The said leaders had sought ouster of Shahnawaz Choudhary while the copies of resolution were forwarded to AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary and JK Affairs In-charge Ambika Soni, Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and PCC chief Prof Saifudin Soz. The PYC members had also made an appeal to Congress high command to set the PYC J&K chapter in order. |
