| SVC for reforms in BOPEE entrance exams | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 26: The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has suggested reforms in BOPEE entrance examinations. The suggestions came after the SVC received complaints about alleged irregularities in the conduct of Entrance Examinations for MBBS, MD & Engineering conducted by the Board. The grievances of the public include complaints of varied nature like impersonation, leakage of papers, improper invigilation at examination centers etc. This year Entrance exams for MBBS had to be conducted afresh. Among other cases under enquiry and investigation, CBI had also to be roped in to conduct investigation in a case of impersonation. Given the seriousness of the matter and the issues raised concerning the careers of the students, this Commission is of the considered view that Board of Professional Entrance Examination's (BOPEE) screening/examination setup requires immediate reforms to ensure transparency in the conduct of Entrance Examinations for admission to Professional Colleges. This will also be in the interest of public in general and students in particular. |
