The country`s first driver to win a British National Karting title is in no hurry to make it to Formula 1, he wants to stay with karting for at least two more years. The Force India Academy product was crowned the British KF3 champion at Shenington, England, earlier in the month. ------------------------------------------------------------- Jammu District Volleyball C’ship from Nov 9 sports reporter Jammu, Oct 26:Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir has scheduled Jammu District Volleyball Championship 2013-14 for boys and girls from 9th to 11th November, 2013 at MA Stadium Sports Complex, here. According to a handout issued here on Friday, organisers have invited affiliated Clubs, institutions of Jammu District and other teams interested to take part in the championship and have advised them to send their entry fees @ Rs 100 along with the list of players on or before 5th November, 2013 to the Organising Secretary, R.C Sharma. The District association will provide To and Fro Bus fare “B” Class and refreshment during matches. According to the organisers, teams consisting of eight players and one incharge will be allowed to participate in the championship. The matches shall be conducted as per Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) rules. The championship shall be conducted on knock out basis and all the matches will be played on best of three sets up to Quarter final while the semi-final and final matches will be played in best of five sets, organiser mentioned. He further said that all the teams must report in proper uniform with printed name of club in front side and number on the back side. They must report at least 40 minutes before the start of the match. The fixture of the championship shall be drawn on 6th November at MA Stadium Sports Complex Jammu at 5:00 PM and all the teams must report on 9th November, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the same venue. ------------------------------------------------------------- Raj Kumar qualifies NET in Music sports reporter JAMMU, Oct 26: Raj Kumar Sharma son of Late Gian Chand Sharma and Satya Sharma of Purani Mandi, here has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET), the results of which declared by the University Grants Commission (UGC) recently. Working with Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, Raj Kumar qualified the NET in Music (Hindustani). Meanwhile, the management and other staff of the IMFA appreciated Sharma for the achievement. |
