Jammu, Oct 26 : Thirty-Five girls from four Jammu Colleges were selected for the final round of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board-Natrang young artists scholarships at the auditorium of Govt. College for Women, Parade, Jammu. This selection was made out of the auditioning of 318 female candidates followed by two day selection workshop conducted by Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur. The other trainers of the selection workshop included Asheish Nijhawan who is a post graduate from National School of Drama, New Delhi and is currently undergoing higher education in Dramatic Arts from London International School of Performing Arts, UK. The second trainer was Neeraj Kant who is into the profession of acting and direction since last 27 years. The third main trainer was Sumeet Sharma who is a post-graduate in dramatics from Punjab University, Chandigarh and is also National Awardee for direction in theatre. The selection process for 15 scholarships was initiated by Natrang in the month of April, 2013. In the first round, the team of Natrang held orientation workshops in different 20 schools and colleges in Jammu to just to let to know the younger generations about this scholarship project. Afterwards Natrang launched a proper application form and in response to that 590 applied for this scholarship programme. The female candidates who participated in the final selection workshop included Juhi Singh, Sakshi Prakash, Sameena Kousar, Navneet Kaur, Surya Salathia, Kiran Choudhary, Nisha Devi, Sapna Choudhary, Namrata Chib, Ruqaya Qazi, Manju, Sakshi Chandel, Ravinder Kaur, Tanya Choudhary, Gurleen Kour, Niharika Sharma, Anshu Kiran, Vrinda Bakshi, Suskashna Sharma, Sagun Mahajan, Nisha Devi, Shimona Chib, Nancy Sharma, Pooja Raj, Sabia Nagpal, Muskan Gupta, Roshni Jethi, Radhika Khajuria, Hem Lata, Shafali Antal, Sadhana Sharma, Priya Sharma, Anu Sharma, Ruhi Charak and Ankita Chopra. Mohd. Yaseen coordinated the whole selection workshop. |
