| Career Abacus organizes State Level Competition | | | et report JAMMU, Oct 27: Today Career Abacus, a leading Abacus Teaching Institute organized state level competition for the students of Abacus at M.N.K.G. Montessori School in which children from the age group of 5 to 13 years participated. The function started with the lighting of lamp by the champions of 2012 Mitashini Koul (senior) and Nakul Sharma (junior). It was followed by the singing of National Anthem. Arvind Sharma, director of Career Abacus informed that aim of this competition is to promote the learning of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic. Children are given a chance to compete among themselves and win prizes. Children were given 200 questions which were to be completed within a time frame of 8 minutes. Everyone present at the examination hall was amazed to see the speed and accuracy of little children who were from different schools and standards ( from K.G to 8th ). The competition was conducted in different levels and age groups. At the end of the exam a small but impressive speech was given and refreshment was distributed among the students. Children were seen coming out of the examination hall happily and satisfied after the performance. Divya, coordinator of the institute explained the benefits of Abacus to the audience and stressed upon the need to teach this skill to all the students in the age group of 5 to 13 years. Among the prominent persons present at the competition were S. Rabinder Singh, chief engineer (retd.), chairman M.N.K.G. Montessori School, Gurdeep Kour principal (retd.) Govt College for Women Gandhi Nagar. |
