Jammu, Oct 28: The bi-annual exercise of shifting all government offices from summer capital to winter capital (Darbar Move) is giving facelift to the city of temples. The roads in Jammu are being improved as black topping is been done, whitewashing process has been started, police barricades are being painted. The traditional darbar is expected to re-open in the winter capital on November 4. Like every year, city is getting a facelift that can be judged by the fact that the roads neglected from the past so many months, are being blacktopped, whitewashing process gears-up to attract the members of legislative assembly and other VIPs'. With Darbar move more than 30,000 government and private vehicles will enter the winter capital, which main create more traffic chaos in the City, however the traffic department claims that they are ready to manage the traffic load in the city. The Estate department, which is in the process of repairing an` d allotting the government offices and accommodation for the last two months, is giving final touch to the government buildings, including Civil Secretariat. M. M. Gupta, Director Estate Department said, "We are all set for the opening of Darbar here in Jammu, some minor works and final touches are pending, but all will be perfect before opening of Darbar." Gupta informed that apart from minor up-gradations, no major changes have been done in the government offices and residences. The department has renovated all the quarters where the employees are provided accommodation during winters. The government quarters at Janipur, Sarwal, Subash Nagar and BC Road have been renovated for the employees. Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is also gearing itself for the annual Darbar and has pressed in men and material to make Jammu city ready for the Darbar move.
