Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 28: In what can be an inevitable fallout of the developments that happened within Pradesh Youth Congress Committee of the state during the last three days, senior members of the body who raised a banner of revolt against the president are likely to face tough action for their conduct seen as creating 'indiscipline' in the party. Axe may however fall on a couple of functionaries , most likely suspension for three years , a step high command is learnt to be contemplating as a deterrent for others , even as show cause notice has been served to all on Sunday.
Sources said even though the members have not yet sent in their explanations on what prompted them to pass no confidence resolution against the incumbent president Shahnawaz Choudhary, the high command is not in a mood to take this as a matter of voices of dissent or infighting which is something normal and routine in the Congress bodies. Sources said that Chetan Chouhan Incharge J&K has taken a serious note of the way the senior functionaries went about in giving vent to their anger against the leadership. Concern has been expressed at the conduct , no matter it has become known widely that the members were unhappy over the omission of their names from the list of high performers , sources added. Chetan Chouhan has already issued show cause notice to all the six PYC members and sought their explanations within 5 days.
Sources also said that strong exception has also been taken by the JKPCC leadership over the way functionaries without taking anyone into confidence passed the resolution and went to media .Both JKPCC leadership as also the IYC leadership at Centre is looking at it as a clear case for disciplinary action which is why some members may face suspension , sources further said. In the show cause notice while taking serious note, the leadership has said that the action of the PYC members has "caused damage to the organization beyond measure". While the incumbent PYC chief is apparently learnt be perturbed over the 'rebellion' he faced for alleged favoritism, he too is pressing for action , his cause of disturbance mainly being personal attack and allegations leveled in the resolution, sources said, adding in order to counter these in befitting manner, he may come out with a statement soon. Pertinently, the PYC members had leveled allegations of favouritism against the incumbent State president Shahnawaz Choudhary in preparing the annual report of high performers and performers in the State unit of Youth Congress, which was sought by High Command for their appraisal.
