People of Lakhanpur resent over dilapidated roads

KATHUA, Oct 29: Agitated locals and social organizations expressed dismay over bad condition of roads and sought proper repair and macadamisation of a stretch of Mah Patti link road at Lakhanpur.
People also sought action against officials for allegedly committing fraud and carrying out sub standard on the road in the past. "Going by the paper-work, lakhs of rupees have been spent on the road past years but the one and half kilometer a piece of road has never been covered and left in broken and damaged condition due to which the state of road is very deplorable and dilapidated.
Speaking on the occasion, some locals namely Arun Kumar and Rajinder Kumar accused the executing agency PWD for badly hitting the normal life of five villages Maha, Patti, Jagatpur, Matandi, Godi Chack, Tarda and Trikot due to its negligence to keep up the complete construction of the one and half kilometer link road of Maha which leads to said five villages.
He said the administration and PWD both had been informed about the problem but both ignored and showed their no interest to the plights of the people. They said that the road is facilitating to five villages of the area of this Kandi belt, but its worst and dilapidated condition has caused so many inconvenience and hardships to the around 4000 population of the area.
The state of road is so miserable and unable to walk, while the fact is known to all this road is only the medium that villagers have to walk over but the PWD apathetic attitude has caused massive resentment among the people.
They warned the PWD and administration of launching protest demonstration if road was not constructed soon.
