Vakil 's punch against NC led Govt continues, NREGA bungling newest | Why in Congress no one musters courage on similar lines….? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: Senior Congress leader and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil has done it again, much to annoyance of National Conference. Continuing with his spree of lashing out at National Conference , Vakil has hit the nail with a political punch, making it more than clear that Congress is not at all interesting in going together with NC in elections. His assertion is relevant and well timed. What comes as a bigger blow is Vakil's continuous attack on corruption, this time exposing links and loops in NREGA, a scheme on which the government tires of making tall claims. The moot question remains while Vakil continues with attacking spree, who listens or cares about , not to speak of giving attention to what he has tried to point out -from loopholes in governance to brazen and glaring aspects of corruption in various departments. That Vakil has been doing so far a long time is no secret, making statements against the government, perhaps hard hitting than the opposition occasionally. But is there any impact on the ground on his pointed matters of brazen corruption, in which he has at times named the concerned ministers and officials too. Vakil has not confined such assertions to just one case, rather has come up with instances galore and has the courage to call a spade a spade when it comes to protecting and promoting the interest of his party. The irony remains that there is only one man in the party who does it continuously and has the guts to call in question the deliberate silence and strategy of NC on certain issues on which Congress commitment stands unfulfilled. One also wonders that why there is no one worth the name in the Congress who has courage point out such aberrations, leave alone endorsing what Vakil says quite often. There is no denying the fact that Congress and National Conference never enjoyed 'friendly' relationship all through their alliance period, which is only being seen now as marriage of compulsion. The current year which happens to be the last year of coalition government has seen many ups and downs , on bigger political issues , yet their alliance stays intact for all apparent reasons, though the bickering has reached all time high , in so far as the interests of Congress are concerned. The coalition which is passing through prickly period for vertical differences on some issues is completely disjointed, incoherent and falling apart. But why are majority of Congress ministers and leaders choosing silence in place of assertive positions on political issues, if not the matters of governance on which both share equal blame….? |
