3 held for encroaching 42 Kanal JDA land valuing Rs 120 Cr | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: Police today claimed to have arrested three persons who were grabbing prime located 42 kanal land belonging to Jammu Development Authority (JDA) at Narwal behind Wave Maul here today. As per sources, the land was retrieved by the timely action of Narwal police which took suo moto action and later informed JDA officials. The JDA after having information reached at the site and joined in the anti encroachment drive by pressing its JCB machines. "Based on the inputs that some persons are grabbing JDA land which valuing Rs 120 Cr, sources said and added, "a police team led by SDPO East Shamsher Singh Sambyal rushed to the spot and seized the revenue papers the grabbers making illegal 'make shift' constructions. On scrutinizing the record, seized from the land grabbers police came to know that the land was in fact belonged to JDA and was illegally being encroached accordingly JDA officials were informed while police cleared the encroachment, sources added. Sources said that accused have been identified namely as Saidullaha son of Sikander Sheikh of Malik Market, Mohd Ashraf son of Saidullaha and Vickramjeet of Pathankot a driver by profession. Police have also lodged FIR against one Rashid Choudary of Malik Market, who presently is evading his arrest while others have been booked under section 447RPC. Sources said that some JDA officials were also under scanner as without their connivance it was impossible for grabbing huge spread of land at prime location and worth crores. According to sources the above mentioned arrested accused, have engaged about 150 labourers for encroachment before the matter becomes open. Meantime sources added that after clearing encroachments the JDA officials also established their sign board "JDA land" on the land. |
