Raising Kashmir issue Omar's poll prank
10/29/2013 11:58:22 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 29: Raising the Kashmir issue by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah with an international agency is mere a political stunt aimed at getting votes during the 2014 elections.
Omar is trying to play with the sentiments of people of Kashmir valley by raising the Kashmir issue ahead of elections. He knows it very well that the work done by him during the past five years will not get him votes and thus he is playing a gamble by raising the Kashmir issue again.
This tactic by the National Conference (NC) working president is not new as this party has been doing it for past so many years. During the 1996 Assembly elections, Omar's father and NC president Farooq Abdullah got votes on the name of Autonomy and in 2008 elections also, they raised K-issue.
Now, ahead of 2014 also, Omar is doing it again to strike a chord in Kashmir where he is losing ground.
Omar has taken oath of allegiance and cannot, therefore, insult the constitution. Further the people of Kashmir have matured enough to fall in the trap yet again. He must, therefore, focus on governance and rid the people of corruption.
It is the duty of government of India to look for the solutions of Jammu and Kashmir issue, if there is any. He must also understand this fact that by acceding to the union of India, the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh had put an end to the talks on Kashmir issue.
These politicians who on one side talk about Kashmir being a dispute and on the other side get every thing from union of India are not doing justice. They must not raise the bogey again and again and should focus on their governance.
