Anti pollution measures reviewed in Samba

Samba, Oct 30: To ensure implementation of anti pollution measures including proper installation and accurate functioning of pollution control devices in the industrial units of Samba, a meeting comprising officers from district administration, members from pollution control board, representatives from Industries besides farmers was convened today in the DC Office Complex, Samba.
Speaking on the occasion SS Slathia, MLA Vijaypur asked the representatives of the industries to follow rules and regulations strictly and further directed the officers of the Pollution control Board to take necessary steps in implementing the anti pollution measures while conducting regular visits so that the effects of the pollutants released by the industries will be checked and our farmers community will not be suffered as agriculture is the backbone of economy. DDC Samba R K Varma while addressing the gathering strictly warned the representatives of the industries to proper install their pollution control devices and made them functional too.
He also gave instructions to the officers of the PCB for proper monitoring the industries to control the pollution and ultimately to check environment pollution, which is not good for the humans, animals as well as for the crops.
He also directed the Agriculture Department to go to the fields of the farmers and check the effects of pollutants on crops by getting properly tested through laboratories.
Among others ADC Samba, ACR Samba, CPO Samba, GM DIC Samba besides officers of Pollution Control Board, representatives from Industries and farmers were also present on the occasion.
