| Skewed paper setting for 12th class Exam | | Students smell a rat | | Mustansir Srinagar, Oct30; Right since the beginning of Class 12th Examination in the winter zone, students from different streams are alleging that Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education is hell bent to ruin their careers as most examination papers held set for the students have been twisted and are out of syllabus. Students have staged various demonstrations to protest "callous attitude" of the BOSE. At least three demonstrations have been held even as the examination which has been proving nightmare for the students has just commenced. On Wednesday, students who had appeared in Business Math paper alleged that BOSE had set their examination paper out of syllabus while they could not do anything in this regard. They said that it was only after the massive protest registered by Math students that the matter came to limelight. Massive demonstrations were held by students who appeared in Math paper and English paper (R-series). Students described the papers as "shocking." They alleged that most of the questions were out of syllabi and "unjustifiably tough". One student has taken his life after a "shocking" Mathematics paper on Monday and several others were hospitalized after consuming poison. "We were not expecting that Board of School Education authorities are so negligent about the examination as most of the questions were not only tough but of syllabus as well," said Nazir Ahmed, a student adding that they want re-examination of English paper. The father of another female student said that he along with other parents approached to Secretary BOSE in this regard. "Despite giving assurances, the BOSE did not do anything. Our children are disconcerted and we seek justice for them," he said. When contacted, Secretary to BOSE, Reenu Goswami said that an expert committee has been constituted to look into the matter. "We are waiting for their expert opinions and it is only after getting their opinion, we would be able to take a decision," she said.
