| Third Front launched, christened as 'People's United Front' | | Tarigami unanimously elected Convener | | Javaid Naikoo
SRINAGAR, Oct 30: The idea of a third front in Jammu and Kashmir conceptualized by CPI M Gen Secretary MY Tarigami in 2010 finally became a reality today and was named as "People's United Front" in a largely attended function in Srinagar.
Calling it an important political development ahead of forthcoming 2014 Parliamentary and state Assembly elections which are scheduled next year, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Hakim Mohammad Yasin president PDF, Abdul Rashid Kabuli President JKNDF, Sheikh Abdul Rehman State President Samajwadi Party, I D Khajuria president IDP, Abdul Rehman Tukru state secretary CPI and Sanjay Saraf leader Lok Janshakti Party in Sher-i-Kashmir park today officially launched the Third Front, which many insisted to be named as First Front.
Unitedly addressing a huge public gathering in Municipal Park Srinagar, Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami, who was unanimously selected as convener of people's United Front said that like-minded people and responsible social workers of Jammu and Kashmir State have decided to work together over many long pending issues including the dialogue between India and Pakistan on Kashmir issue unanimously and have formed an alternative political initiative in the name of People's United Front to solve the problems faced by the people of the state.
Tarigami who according to the sources is considered as the founder of front in Jammu and Kashmir as he actually had put forth the concept of forming a Third Front among some politicians of Kashmir back in 2010.
Other office bearers of People's United Front who addressed the gathering including Hakim Mohammad Yasin of PDF, Sanjay Saraf of Lok Janshakti Party and Abdul Rehman Tukru of Communist Party of India said that they would welcome anybody having a neat political background and interested to work for the betterment of general public, besides they stressed upon the social organizations of the state, intellectual class and like minded people to come forward and join the front so that people's problems could be solved once for all.. |
