| BJP's Refugee Adhikaar Yatra: Senior leaders unenthusiastic...... | | Tepid response a calibrated move….? | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 30: Even as the BJP's Refugee Adhikaar Yatra is progressing well, having covered a number of places that matter for the party during the past over a week, entire hierarchy is not showing keen interest in the participation nor are the leaders who matter within the state unit upbeat about the Yatra going on smoothly amid a good response. As some leaders and key functionaries are choosing to stay away or keep themselves off the fervor generated at many places, their calibrated participation is being seen as deliberately not cooperating with the state president who is leading the Yatra, for a larger cause of refugees. Sources within the party said even though the party has managed to move ahead with the Yatra with a sizeable number of leaders at various district and block levels, the participation of senior most leaders of the party is negligible. A number of MLAs, former legislators and even ex presidents are not showing keen interest nor any enthusiasm towards the Refugee Adhikar Yatra, which has been launched by the state leadership for a political cause. Sources said even some senior functionaries in the hierarchy are not voluntarily associating themselves in a big way with the Yatra which the state president is trying to pull ahead with a political aggression in the constituencies covered so far. So are the presidents of various other Morchas associated with the BJP keeping distance from this political show initiated by the party for the first time. However, there are many among those, who despite being on board are moving on in a disenchanted manner and their participation is far from zeal and zest. Sources said instead of associating with this Yatra with gusto ,from amongst the senior leaders apart from giving a deliberate miss, there are a few who are trying to sabotage and scuttle its further journey in a petty manner which will go against the spirit and purpose for which the Central leadership has given a nod to it. The only reason which makes them do so is to discredit the state president of any success party is likely to achieve on this count, sources said, some are also wary of the fact that the state president may derive a mileage out of this venture while others are also apprehensive of the prospects of him getting popular in the constituencies wherefrom the Yatra is scheduled to move onwards journey. Their fears, no matter on account of envy are also based on the speculations that state president Jugal Kishore Sharma may be given mandate for the next Parliamentary elections for Jammu-Poonch seat. |
