Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 29: Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Gurpreet Singh stressed upon smooth and corruption free functioning of the department during his visits at Aayakar Bhawan, Jammu and also met with the people of trade community. He held a meeting with the representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Associated Chamber of Traders Federation, Jammu chapter of NIRC of ICAI, Jammu, Income Tax Bar Association, Jammu and top tax payers of the region. During the course of interactive session with the participants viz Y.V. Sharma, President Chamber of Commerce, Y.P. Gupta, President Associated Chamber of Traders Federation, Sat Mehta, President Tax Bar Association, Vikram Garg, Vice Chairman, NIRC of ICAI, Jammu, R.K. Gupta CA, Director J&K Bank and top tax payers, various issues including grievances and concerns of the tax payers were discussed. The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax also held a formal review meeting with the officers and staff members of the department. During the formal review meeting with the officers and staff members of the department, he stressed upon smooth and corruption free functioning of the department in view of the vigilance awareness week which is being observed from 28.10.2013 to 02.11.2013. On the occasion, A.K. Thatai, Commissioner of Income Tax welcomed the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax to the J&K Charge and briefed him about the working of the Income Tax Department in J&K. R.K. Kakar, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-1, Jammu, Rakesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-2, Jammu, Mini Chandran U., Dy. Commissioner of Income Tax (HQ), Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, Circle-3, Srinagar and other senior officers of the department also attended this session. |
