Jammu, Oct 29: Following a scuffle between the bar members and traffic police over an alleged misbehavior with former president of Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) Adv R.K Kotwal by the traffic cops on duty enroute Janipur-Ban Talab, the lawyers staged protest at High Court Chowk Janipur today. "The incident took place when former president of BAJ senior Adv R.K Kotwal was allegedly misbehaved (commented) by the traffic cops on duty when he was on way to court in his vehicle," sources said while adding, " the comment an overheard by Mr Kotwal became the root cause of scuffle between the two sides. "The incident initially started from heated arguments took an ugly after when some other lawyers too joined senior advocate, sources said. They added the lawyers termed the role of traffic police as non appreciable while clearing the traffic on the route while traffic cops to its contrast claimed that they were on their job i.e. clearing the road as movement of the senior judges and this was routine owing to office hours and the ex president BAJ took their assignment (job) nothing but as 'personal'. Sensing gravity of the situation, the senior traffic police cops rushed to the spot and sorted the matter out. When contacted a senior police officer briefly termed it was matter of 'personal ego' between the two sides which later was resolved amicably. |
