| Girl succumbs to her injuries ; Locals protest | | | early times report Rajouri, Oct 29: A rashly driven tempo traveler crushed a girl studying in 9th class at Government Higher Secondary School at Kotranka to death today morning instigating a protest from locals who alleged lack of ambulance services in the area after the girl succumbed to her fatal injuries. Sources said that the deceased has been identified as Shamim Akhter d/o Karamat Hussain of village Jaglanoo who was fatally injured by a rashly driven vehicle here today resulting into her death. Infuriated over the tragic death of the girl, local traders in Kotranka closed their business establishments staged a protest against health authorities and civil administration. "Had the doctors were available in the hospital the girl could have been saved," said an agitated protestor. Protestors also alleged that the tempo was driven by the person who even doesn't possess a valid license and demanded stern action against him. The demonstrators also alleged that the Health Minister has failed to provide facilities in a hospital at Kotranka. Earlier soon after the accident the injured girl was shifted to the nearby hospital but to the surprise of the people no doctors was available in the hospital. Locals hired a private vehicle to shift injured to Rajouri as there was no ambulance at Hospital but injured girl succumbed on way to Rajouri. Meanwhile a case against driver whose identity has been ascertained as Mohd Qayoom s/o Mohd Bashir owner of the tempo traveler.
