Reasonable, justified rates of milk demanded

Kathua, Oct 30: In order to condemn and criticized the soaring price rise of milk in district Kathua, all parties and social organizations held a press conference under the leadership of S. Manohar Singh, JKPCC's secretary at Kathua here today.
While addressing the press conference, he said that they were shocked to know the price rise of milk is soaring high up without any check and forcing the innocent people to face more and more hardships. The price of petrol, pulses, food grains, etc has already reached the maximum level.
The recent proposal in price hike of milk from rupees 30 to 35 has come up as another bad news for the common man, who is facing immense problem because of the price rise Singh said.
He further said that the country with a large vegetarian population, Like fruit and vegetables, milk, can be a very useful element in the diet of the people.
Unfortunately, in state as well as district Kathua, dairying is in a backward condition, and has not received the attention it deserves.
He said that it is surprising to say that the price rise will be going on peak and never will come down. And it is the responsibility of the Government to check Inflation and price rise of essential commodities. All parties urged the administration and state government to fix the reasonable and justified rates of milk so that producers and consumers could be benefited in a proper balanced manner.
Meanwhile, All India Consumer Forum for Kathua and Akhil Bhartya Grahak Panchayat also condemned the huge price rise of milk and its products in Kathua district and later submitted a memorandum to state government through Deputy Commissioner Kathua for seeking the immediate invention of state government to fix a genuine and fair milk rates.
On the occasion, Ramesh Chander, Manish Pangotra, Gagandeep Singh, Sham Lal, Ramesh Bharti, Ajay Sharma and Sunil Sharma were present.
