| GoC Northern Command Chachra flags in national integration tour | | | | Udhampur, Oct 30: GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra today flagged in national integration tour' 'SAIR-E-WATAN' under Operation Sadbhavana at Udhampur. The main objective of organizing tour was to give Sarpanches and Panches from remote and economically backward areas of Khari bowl in Ramban district an opportunity to witness economic developments and an exposure about the functioning of various Government bodies especially the Panchayats in rest of India. During their interaction with the General Officer they expressed their gratitude to the Army for organizing and facilitating the conduct of the tour. In their 12 days tour the Sarpanches and Panches were taken to different villages of Amritsar district in Punjab and Jaipur district in Rajasthan. Interacting with their local counterparts they got an insight into the progress being made by the Panchayati Raj institutions and their role in various development activities. |
