POONCH, Oct 30: Habib Club Surankote today qualified for the final of the ongoing Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College (GDC) ground, here.
In the semifinals, Habib Club trounced Glamorous Club by four wickets. Earlier, Glamorous Club won the toss and elected to bat they made 145 runs.
Ajit and Uneet were main scorers with 31 and 29 runs in their respective accounts. From Habib Club, Adnan took two wickets for 18 runs while Kamran bagged three for 22 runs.
In reply, Habib Club played fine innings and overhauled the opponent total for the loss of six wickets. Nasir made maximum 49 runs, followed by Shabir with 23. From Glamorous Club, Devinder and Deepu shared two wickets each.
In today's semifinal, incharge District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Nazir Charak was chief guest, who interacted with the teams.
Meanwhile, according to organising secretary of the tournament, Mohd Tariq Khan, the second semifinal shall be played on November six.

City girl Sayrah shines at Delhi State Gymnastics C`ships

New Delhi, Oct 30: Local girl Sayrah sizzled at the 53rd Delhi State Gymnastics Championships as she bagged three gold medals and was adjudged `Best All round Gymnast` at the recently concluded event.
Sayrah won gold on three apparatus - Floor, Vault and Beam in the competition conducted by Delhi Gymnastics Association from October 22-27.
A student of class ninth, Sayrah has been doing gymnastics since she was seven. She has won several medals over the years at the Delhi state and district level.
Sayrah helped Delhi team win its first-ever medal in girls` gymnastics at last year`s Nationals in Patiala, when her side won bronze. |
