Jammu, Oct 30: As a part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week from 28th October to 2nd November 2013, Power Grid Corporation of India Northern Region Transmission System-II , today organized vendors meet to sensitize them about the some of the common issues that haunt the vendors during construction and operation of transmission system.
According to sources, senior executives from all the major vendors of POWERGRID attended the meet. Prominent among those companies that attended the meet are BHEL, L&T, EMCO, RS Gill & Company, GET , Siemens , TATA Projects, Aster, Crompton Greaves, Alsthom, Vijay Fire and Shipra.
Paramjit Singh Chahal, Head of vigilance Northern Region-II appraised them of the steps being taken by Government of India, CVC and CTE in eradication of the menace of corruption in our country.
He also highlighted the efforts of POWERGRID in this direction, which include the process on-line inspections, web based complaint system, E-BILLING and Bill tracking system.
Senior Most officers of POWERGRID Northern Region-II was present on this occasion which include its Executive Director JP Singh, General Manager (I/C-Projects) SK Sharma, General Manager (I/C-Kurukshetra) RK Chouhan and General Manager (O&M) KR Suri.
KR Suri, General Manager(O&M) highlighted the importance of such meets and stressed on the fact that such meets are a platform to share experiences. RK Chouhan, General Manager(I/C-Kurukshetra) impressed upon the vendors present there to take care of their pressing needs in connection with timely execution of projects.
In his address S.K.Sharma, General Manager(I/C-Projects) addressed major challenges being faced during execution of projects including survey, forest clearances, project management, safety , various licences, storage of equipment etc. He asked the vendors to work as team players with them.
A brain storming presentation was also made by Paramjit Singh Chahal, Head of vigilance on various aspects of operation of POWERGRID which was highly appreciated by one and all. Vote of thanks was presented by RN Sen, DGM (PESM). |
