| Jaswant singh breaks fast, will continue to fight against corruption in railways | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 9: Brief note regarding the complaint of Jaswant Singh VPO Amala Tehsil Hiranagar District Kathua J&K state who retired on 30/092013 from Railway Station Sujanpur( Pathankot) as Station Superintendent who is sitting on hunger strike from 07/11/2013 . He had no problem during his 27 years service tenure as a Station Master except when he was posted in BariBrahmana from 2009 to 2011 in handling of Coal Wagons the problem started .
Jaswant Singh found the leakage of railway revenue by the coal dealers the only coal operation in the state inconnivanace with the local politician and higher railway officers . Singh brought this serious issue of huge leakage of railway revenue to the higher railway officers from Jammu to Ferozpur who instead of encouraging the honest officer shifted him from Bari Brahmana Railway station,Ferozepur Division to Railway Electrification Department at Ambala without his consent and being a non technical person he had no experience in the field of electrification. All his dues including salaries, allowances and other privileges like railway passes were stopped, he did not have any reason why all his privileges and pays were stopped.
He was made financially, physically and mentally wreck. Even he lost his father due to the suffering of his son's family and had to discontinue the education of his two daughters and one son who had brilliant records in their school. He could not give them proper education. Instead at Jammu near his hometown Kathua, he was posted in Ambala. He should have been posted as Station Master with his service of 28 years and had already served each and every station from Jalandhar to Jammu Tawi , Pathankot to Joginder Nagar area and also from Pathankot to Amritsar as a Station Master without any complaint. He has also served out of the Division like Delhi , Nizamudin, Sahibabad ,Ghaziabad.
Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP chief J&K state said that it is very sad that inspite of all his good service as a station master his problem started from Bari Brahmana Railway station when he started watching the interest of railway revenue in which railways was losing lot of money through coal mafia.
Now his outstanding salary for the month of Apr 2009 , Feb 2010, July 2013 , bonus for the financial year 2012-13, Travelling Allowance for the month of Apr 2011, Jun 2013, July 2013 , overtime from 31/07/11 to 01/06/13 by Railway Electrification Deptt , National holiday Allowance 31/07/11 to 15/07/13 during his stay in railway electrification , Transport allowance of different months , HRA from 21/07/110 to 30/09/13 , unnecessary recovery of quarter rent , electric charges , water charges withdrawn from his salary ,non-granting of Income Tax relief for the financial year 2011-12 , non payment of mobile charges ,non Payment of overtime in division from 25/04/10 to 8/05/10, 12/09/10 to 25/09/10 , 10/10/10 to 23/10/10 , 05/12/10 to 18/12/10,13/03/11 to 26/03/11 is due with the Railway Department.
It is very difficult to maintain his small family even his gratuity is not released which is Rs 665438/- which would have been great help to Railway officer. |
